Gifts of all sizes are welcomed and acknowledged:
Donations to the library are generally tax-deductible, to the extent allowed by law.
Donations are also accepted on behalf of the Library by the Friends of Lake Bluff Library, a 501(c)3 organization.
Gifts during the renovation:
Our ability to accept donated materials is significantly diminished by the space constraints of the renovation. The library continues to accept donations of gently used paperback books for the train station and the library's exchange shelf. For large quantities of materials or hardcover books, we encourage patrons to wait until the renovation concludes in June to donate. If you have materials that need a new home immediately, we will be happy to work with you to find a recipient for the materials.
Consider honoring a friend or loved one with a
donation which will be used to purchase a book in that person's name:
These gifts can be commemorated with special bookplates,
too. If you are thinking of donating new or like-new materials (books, DVDs)
or other items, please discuss your idea in advance with the Library Director.
Due to our limited space, we are generally unable to accept donations of large
numbers of used books or similar items. We also are generally unable to accept
textbooks, magazines, or encyclopedias.Of course, all gifts and donations
become the property of the library, for use at our sole discretion.
