Temporary Library Cards

Lake Bluff residents who do not currently have a library card can now request a temporary card. Your temporary card ensures you are able to access eBooks, eAudiobooks, streaming movies, databases, and more 24/7 from anywhere you can access the Internet. If you are a resident of unincorporated Lake Bluff, payment of a tax equivalent fee IS necessary before your card can be activated.If you run into any issues, please contact us at the Reference Desk.

Getting Started

  1. Request your temporary card by completing the form on this page
  2. Library staff will receive and process your request within 2 business days.
  3. You will receive an email with your temporary card number and instructions for accessing your Library account online.
  4. If you are a resident of unincorporated Lake Bluff, payment of a tax equivalent fee may be necessary before your card can be activated. You will need to login using your temporary card number and pay online with either a Credit or Debit card.
  5. You can immediately begin using your library card to access resources on the Library website: eBooks, eAudiobooks, and Streaming Videos, Download Magazines, and Digital Resources.
