The Lake Bluff Library is celebrating 40 years of children’s creative writing and we’re shaking things up for this milestone anniversary! Writers can submit up to 10 pages of original work in any genre. All submissions will receive personalized feedback from local published authors, and all entrants will be invited to the celebration.

Wondering about the bookmark design contest? It now has its own spotlight! Beginning in 2027, the bookmark design contest will take place during National Library Week in April. Watch for details in our spring newsletter on how to participate.

A woman kneels beside a young boy sitting on the floor. She is holding open papers while the boy looks up at her. They appear to be in a classroom with chairs stacked in the background.

Pictured above is Phyllis Fox! The Phyllis Fox Memorial Writing Contest started in 1986 as a memorial to her. Ms. Fox was the first children’s librarian here at the Lake Bluff Library.
