NOTICE OF BUILDING AND GROUNDS COMMITTEE

The Building and Grounds Committee of the Lake Bluff Public Library Board of Trustees will meet in person for the purposes outlined below:

Lake Bluff Public Library Board of Trustees Meeting of Building and Grounds Committee Wednesday, August 14 at 4 PM in Spruth Room

Prior notification of intention to attend is not required but is appreciated. Questions related to the Library agenda can be sent before or shared in person during the meeting to Library Director Renee Grassi at rgrassi@lakeblufflibrary.org. AGENDA

  1. Call to order-Chairman Jerch called the meeting to order at 4:04
  2. Roll Call-In attendance are Trustees Shaul, Jardine, chairman Jerch and Library director Grassi.
  3. Public Comment-None
  4. ACTION: Vote to approve Building and Ground Committee Meeting minutes from June 12, 2024-Not done as Minutes were not ready.
  5. New Business
    1. Village/Library IGA negotiations, Timeline for next steps-Moving forward from IGA meeting on Aug1. Historical water bills that should have been covered by Village are going to be reimbursed at 20% because of a previous agreement per email agreement with a former library director. Going forward the Village will cover Water, Gas, Electric and Sewer. The Village of Lake Bluff is concerned about security at the library. Draft IGA due 8/15. The plan is to have the IGA signed by the end of September.
    2. Director Updates
      1. Strategic Facilities Plan collections and space work with Engberg Anderson-Library staff met with Engberg/Anderson regarding the reduction of library collection. b. Security Project with CVI-New staff has done a walk through to learn the ins and outs of the library.
      2. Community Engagement Video Series on State of the Building-Blue Sky Video Productions will be making videos for the library. Cost is $2,500 to deliver a series of informational videos regarding the state of the Library.
    3. Discussion: Matching community donations for Accessibility Grant-The Library Foundation to donate $30,000 toward matching the Illinois Library Grant.
  6. Executive Session-None
    1. Discussion of minutes of meetings lawfully closed under this Act, whether for purposes of approval by the body of the minutes or semi-annual review of the minutes as mandated by Section 2.06 and in compliance with the Open Meetings Act 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (21)
    2. To discuss the appointment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees of the public body in compliance with the Open Meetings Act 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (1)
  7. Any and all other business that may properly come before this committee a. Scheduling of September 2024 Meeting-Meeting will be held on September 12, 2024 at 6:30 meeting
  8. Adjournment Trustee Shaul motioned to adjourn with Jardine seconding.
