Committee of the Whole Meeting of the Board of Library Trustees

Agenda

  1. Call to Order – Trustee Friedeman called the meeting to order at 7:00pm.
  2. Roll Call – In attendance: Trustees Friedeman, Jardine, Shaul, Heck, Reidy, Kearney, Sobolak. Additionally, Director Natalie Starosta and Adult/Youth Services Manager Eliza Jarvi, Mike Barzacchini (left at 7:40pm) and Darren Schretter (arrived at 7:25pm).
  3. Additions and Corrections to the Agenda – No changes.
  4. Members of the Public to Address the Board – No members of the public
  5. New Business
    1. DISCUSSION: Strategic Plan –Mike Barzacchini gave a presentation on how the plan will be conducted and conducted a session with the Board to include their thoughts on the direction and priorities of the library.
    2. DISCUSSION: Facility Plan – Studio GC’s Darren Schretter gave a presentation on the initial facility assessment plan process, final report matrix, and initial findings. The completed report will be in the November Board meeting.
    3. The Board took a short break from 8:43 to 8:48pm.
    4. DISCUSSION: Update of Personnel Policy Manual – A typo was found in Letter D. Item will be added to the November Board meeting as an action item.
    5. DISCUSSION: New Materials Disposal Policy – The term “library property” will be added throughout. Item will be added to the November Board meeting as an action item.
    6. DISCUSSION: Rescinding of Home Delivery Policy – Item will be added to the November Board meeting as an action item.
    7. DISCUSSION: Update of Circulation Policies 1-19 – Acceptable identification will also include photo identification from US territories. Item will be added to the November Board meeting as an action item.
    8. DISCUSSION: Update of FOIA Policy – Addresses will be reviewed throughout. Item will be added to the November Board meeting as an action item.
  6. Adjournment – Trustee Friedeman closed the meeting at 9:22pm.
