    1. Discussion with Jamie Rachlin focused on follow up from the Library Board Retreat.
      1. Shared with the group the differences pros/cons of a municipal library vs a district library.
      2. Options to build up funding to carry out necessary repairs and upgrades to the library building could include a onetime levy increase to the village or debt service through a bond.
      3. Most libraries account for 2-3% of a resident’s tax bill. Lake Bluff residents are closer to 2%.
      4. Townships with larger budgets benefit from a higher commercial tax base.
    2. The upcoming negotiation for the IGA between the Village and the library was discussed. While the village wants to get a quick resolution, it was felt that all Library Board trustees should be given time to have input into the details, some of which include length of agreement and how to account for the building improvement study which will not be complete until later in the year.
    3. The Midwest Environmental Consulting Services proposal was shared with the group. Cost for the Asbestos Abatement Project is estimated to be between $38,900 and $46,500. The proposal will be shared with all the board at the next full meeting. Replacement costs are not part of the proposal.
