Interests, passions, hobbies: I love experimenting with vegetable & flower gardening, playing tennis, reading and seeing how my children experience the world.
Favorite book: Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi
Favorite things about the library: The Lake Bluff library is a powerful little community hub that provides so many services far beyond lending books. As a parent of two young kids, I am particularly fond of the children's programming and the welcoming environment that the Library staff has created.
Why I serve on the Board: I am passionate about ensuring that our library remains filled with accessible, diverse and culturally-responsive programming and resources, particularly for children and adolescents.

Interests, passions, hobbies: I love to run and have been on the Lake Forest Lake Bluff Running Club since 1984. I’ve traveled reasonably extensively. Knitting is a way that I relax. I also love to read and I’m on a book club.
Favorite book: My favorite book is actually two series which are interconnected. They are The Lymond Chronicles and The House of Niccolo by Dorothy Dunnett.
Favorite things about the library: When my younger son was little, we used to go to lunch and then to the Library every Thursday. It is such a lovely place to go with children. I’m also impressed that the Library does passports.
Why I serve on the Board: It’s time to give back to the community that has been such an important part of my family’s life and the Library is the perfect place to do that.

Interests, passions, hobbies: Exploring Lake Bluff and surrounding communities with my wife and son; running, hiking and bicycling throughout town and beyond.
Favorite book: I usually have a book in my briefcase to occupy me during at least part of my daily rail commute—so there are many.
Favorite things about the library: The Library is a valuable asset to Lake Bluff residents in many different ways, so it’s difficult to pick just one. However, I have found the staff—who are experts in the latest best practices of library science—to be exemplary.
Why I serve on the Board: Public libraries, where the knowledge produced by society can be organized and accessed, remain critical resources in our world. It is an honor and a privilege to contribute, even in a small way, to the excellent work Lake Bluff’s Library does in this respect.

Favorite things about the library: That our Library is more than just books—we have group activities, visiting authors, and so much more.
Why I serve on the Board: I’ve been an active volunteer in the Village since moving here in 2004. I jumped at the chance to give my time, as well as my communications and strategic planning talents, to the Lake Bluff Library.
