Donations of Books and Other Materials
Please call the Library during normal operating hours to see if we are able to accommodate your donation of new or like-new books. Due to our limited space, we are generally unable to accept large donations of books or other materials. All material gifts and donations become property of the Lake Bluff Library for use at its discretion.
Commemorative Donations
If you would like to honor someone special, consider making a donation to the Library in their name. These gifts can be commemorated with a special bookplate honoring your loved one and acknowledging your gift. Contact the Library for more information about making a commemorative donation.
The Friends and the Foundation
Donations are also accepted on behalf of the Library through two 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations: the Friends of the Lake Bluff Library and the Lake Bluff Public Library Foundation. The Friends primarily provide support for furnishings, equipment, and programming, whereas the Foundation focuses on helping the Library with capital improvements through fundraising campaigns targeting specific needs.
Tax Deductions
Donations to the Library are generally tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. The Library can provide a letter acknowledging donations of physical materials.
