Lake Bluff Library cardholders can take advantage of two great museum pass programs that offer free or discounted admission to a wide variety of cultural institutions across Illinois. Whether you're planning a weekend family outing or just looking to try something new, these programs are a great way to enjoy museums, gardens, zoos, and more—at a discount!

Explore More Illinois

Reserve passes online, anytime

Explore More Illinois is a digital platform that allows Lake Bluff Library cardholders ages 18 and older to reserve passes for discounted or free admission to a variety of attractions across the state. This service is available 24/7 and can be accessed from any device with an internet connection.

Key Details:

  • Access online with your Library card and PIN

  • Reserve up to three passes at a time

  • Passes are date-specific and must be printed or saved digitally

  • A photo ID matching the name on the pass is required for admission

Participating attractions include:

  • Chicago Children’s Museum (Chicago)

  • DuSable Museum of African American History (Chicago)

  • Illinois Holocaust Museum (Skokie)

  • Discovery Center Museum (Rockford)

  • Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum (Springfield)

Museum Adventure Pass

Pick up passes in person at the Library

Museum Adventure Passes provide free or reduced admission to select Chicago-area museums and must be requested and picked up in person at the Library. Passes are available on a first come, first served basis and cannot be reserved in advance.

Key Details:

  • Available only to Lake Bluff Library cardholders

  • Passes must be requested in person at the First Floor Service Desk

  • One pass per household per week

  • Quantities are limited

  • Chicago Botanic Garden (Glencoe)

  • Cantigny Park (Wheaton)

  • Bess Bower Dunn Museum (Libertyville)

  • American Writers Museum (Chicago)

  • Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art (Oak Brook)
