Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library
Lake Bluff Public Library is pleased to announce that Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is now open for enrollment in Lake County, thanks to the Lake County Regional Office of Education Foundation (LCROEF). This program delivers a free, high-quality book each month to every child from birth to age five—no matter the family’s income—to foster a lifelong love of reading.
“Access to books at an early age is one of the most effective ways to build literacy skills and prepare children for success in kindergarten and beyond,” said Michael Karner, Lake County regional superintendent of schools, in the Daily Herald.
Why Imagination Library Matters
- Equitable Access: Monthly book deliveries remove financial and transportation barriers for families.
- Proven Impact: Early reading supports language development, school readiness, and a love of learning.
- Strong Partnerships: LCROEF’s sponsorship ensures that every Lake County child can open the door to imagination.
“We’re proud to partner with LCROEF to make sure every Lake County child has the opportunity to open the door to imagination,” said Natalie Starosta, Director of Lake Bluff Public Library.
