Natalie Starosta, Library Director of Lake Bluff Public Library, shared her resignation with the Library Board of Trustees. Her last day with Lake Bluff Public Library will be August 7, 2026. Ms. Starosta has accepted the position of Library Director at Huntley Area Public Library.
 

Ms. Starosta joined Lake Bluff Public Library in March 2025. During her tenure, she worked closely with Library staff and the Board of Trustees to strengthen Library operations, support long-term planning, and position the Library for continued success.

Under Ms. Starosta's leadership, the Library advanced several key initiatives, including the development of a new five-year Strategic Plan to help guide the Library's future. She also oversaw work on a Capital Facility Plan to better understand the Library's facility needs and establish a roadmap for future improvements. In addition, she helped advance the Library of Things collection, secured funding for the Library's asbestos abatement project, supported professional development opportunities for staff, including attendance at the American Library Association Annual Conference in June 2026, and expanded relationships with community organizations to strengthen partnerships and outreach.
 

Ms. Starosta says, “Serving the Lake Bluff community has been one of the greatest honors of my career. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed by an engaged and caring community that values learning, connection, and public service. I have greatly enjoyed working with our talented staff, dedicated trustees, community partners, and residents throughout the Village. Together, we have strengthened the Library's role as a gathering place and community resource. I am deeply grateful for the support, friendships, and collaboration I have experienced during my time here and will always look back on Lake Bluff with appreciation and fondness.”
 

As she begins this next chapter in her career, the Lake Bluff Public Library Board of Trustees and staff extend their sincere appreciation for Ms. Starosta's leadership and dedication to the Library. We thank her for her service and wish her continued success as Library Director at Huntley Area Public Library.
