This program pairs together a child entering grades 1st through 3rd with a teen volunteer entering grades 7th through 12th for six weekly reading sessions. Details for each age group may be found below.

Big Buddies

For students entering grades 7th through 12th grade. If you’re friendly, patient and enthusiastic about working with children, sign up to be paired with young readers to help them work on reading skills and comprehension. You will spend 30 minutes with each reader. Volunteers must be available for all six weeks to participate. To apply, complete the form below. Deadline for applications: June 7th, 2022.

Little Buddies

For students entering grades 1st through 3rd grade. This program is designed to create a relaxed environment where a child feels comfortable reading out loud and enjoys time with their Big Buddy. Buddies will meet once a week for six weeks. During each 30 minute session, they will read aloud together and talk about stories. Your child will be matched with a volunteer who is entering grade 7 through grade 12. Children participating in the program must be able to attend at least 5 of the 6 weeks.
