Did you know that we have autorenewal at the Library? This improvement launched in June of 2020 and the announcement kind of got lost in the shuffle of the pandemic, so we like to remind everyone about it every so often. Here’s how it works:

Fall is here and Sunday hours are coming back! The Library will be open from 1pm to 5pm on Sundays beginning this Sunday, September 11. In addition to our regular services, we've also got a special Grandparents' Day Storytime scheduled for that day. We look forward to seeing you!
Lake Bluff Library Director to leave post 7/31
At the June 21 meeting of the Lake Bluff Library Board of Trustees, Eric Bailey announced that he will resign from his position as Library Director effective July 31, 2022.
“This is not a change that I make lightly,” said Bailey in his resignation letter. “I love the Lake Bluff Public Library and the community it serves, and only a rare opportunity could pull me away.” Bailey has accepted the position of Library Director of the Waupaca Area Public Library in his hometown of Waupaca, Wisconsin—the same library Bailey says inspired his lifelong love of libraries and learning.
The Carole and Alfred Stroh Reading Room
Renovations are coming this summer at the Lake Bluff Public Library thanks to a generous donation from long time Board member Carole Stroh. Beginning on June 3rd, the space formerly occupied by the Adult Computer Room will be transformed into a quiet reading and study space, complete with comfortable seating and fireplace donated by the Friends of the Lake Bluff Library. Computer access, both ready-access sit down terminals and laptops, will continue to be available at the Library. No disruptions to any services are anticipated. Thank you for your patience and we hope you enjoy the new space!
A massive thank you to DiVinci Painters for the fresh coat of paint in the Children's Department! Access to some areas and collections may be restricted during the painting process on May 24th and 25th.

The Lake Bluff Public Library is pleased to announce a change to its lending policy. Beginning January 1, 2022, the Library will no longer charge overdue fines for materials that are returned late.
